Delivery and Selection Services

Home Service

Home Service is available for customers who are unable to visit a library due to long-term illness or disability, and have no one to access a library on their behalf. Materials are selected and checked out by library staff, with delivery by a screened volunteer.

Materials are selected by library staff based on a reading profile and the customer's requests. Delivery is by a screened volunteer once a month. The volunteer picks up the bag of library material at the branch and delivers it to the Home Service customer's door. The volunteer then takes the bag of returns back to the library. Home Service customers have access to a wide range of items including:

  • Regular and large print books
  • Audiobooks
  • DAISY books (for those who qualify)
  • Music CDs
  • Movies (DVD, Blu-ray)
  • Magazines

To learn more, contact Millennium Library's Home Service Coordinator at 204-986-2738. Learn about volunteering. Download poster, en français.

Selection Service

Staff at Millennium Library can select audiobooks, DAISY books and Large Print books based on a list of reading preferences and have them sent for pick-up at any library. Please contact Millennium Library's Special Services at 204-986-6489.

If you have a mobility disability and need help selecting regular print materials to be picked up by friends or family, please speak to staff at your local library.
