Closed-Captioned DVDs

The Winnipeg Public Library has over 6000 DVDs that are closed-captioned.


Adapted Books

Adapted Books using Picture Communication Symbols are available at Millennium Library's Children's Services for children and teens who have no speech or whose speech is not readily understood by others. Adapted Books can be placed on hold for pickup at any library through the online catalogue.


Books in Braille

Books in Braille are available at Millennium Library's Children's Services ("touch-see" level 1 and 2) and can be placed on hold for pickup at any library through the online catalogue.


Large Print and Audiobooks

Large print books and audiobooks on CD and MP3 are available at every library.


DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System) Audiobooks and Readers

DAISY audiobooks are specifically designed for customers with print disabilities.

DAISY readers are also available for customers to borrow. With a DAISY reader, you can read a DAISY audiobook the same way you would read a print book.

DAISY audiobooks and readers are available at Millennium Library's Special Services at 204-986-6489, or can be placed on hold for pickup at any library through the online catalogue.

Daisy readers are available for a loan period of 84 days (12 weeks).

Only customers with a print disability as defined in the Canadian Copyright Act can borrow DAISY books and readers. Add Print Disability access to your account by completing a Request for Print Disability (English / French) at any branch. Contact Special Services at 204-986-6489 for help if needed.
