History
St. James-Assiniboia Library opened in 1958. The library was built by the then independent city of St. James. It was expanded in 1963 and a second floor added in 1970, resulting in one of the largest branches in the Winnipeg Public Library system. The 25,351 sq. ft. library underwent some renovations in 2013-2014.
