St. Boniface Library was established in 1953 when St. Boniface was still a separate municipality. In 1972, the Library became a branch of the Winnipeg Public Library system when the twelve municipalities that now form the City of Winnipeg merged. In June 1987, new facilities were opened at the corner of Provencher Boulevard and Tache Avenue. The 15,385 sq.ft. library was extensively renovated in 2013.
