After running a "name the library" contest, the branch was changed from the Northwest Branch to the Sir William Stephenson Library, in honour of the war hero and master spy. The 13,779 sq. ft. library houses a statue of Sir William Stephenson, generously donated to the library by sculptor Leo Mol.
