History
Munroe Library opened in 1964 as a branch of the Henderson Regional Library serving the municipalities of East Kildonan, North Kildonan and East St. Paul. Service was expanded in 1966 to include neighbouring Elmwood as well. Increasing demand for service led to two moves into larger quarters. The last move was in 1988 to the current shopping mall. The 8,242 sq. ft. library was renovated in 2010. Munroe Library closed again for renovations in October of 2021. It reopened on April 22, 2022 and features a new literacy playground, tutorial room, service desk and interior book return.
