 Scotiabank has announced it is contributing $50,000 to the Millennium Library Community Campaign. Mr. Brock Alexander, Scotiabank Vice-President of commercial banking, Mrs. Dee Buchwald, Co-Chair of the Winnipeg Library Foundation Community Campaign, Ms. Donna Beaver, Scotiabank District Vice-President and Todd Pennell, Winnipeg Library Foundation Executive Director recently got together at the Millennium Library construction site to celebrate the occasion (click on image to enlarge).
As a major international company, we know that our greatest impact is at the community level. Scotiabank is very proud to support this exceptional project and much-needed community service,” said Donna Beaver in presenting the cheque to the Winnipeg Library Foundation. Added Dee Buchwald: “Scotiabank is once again demonstrating its sense of leadership and community spirit. This gift will enable the Winnipeg Library Foundation to fund the purchase of thousands of books for our new Library”.
The Millennium Library is an award-winning redevelopment of the central branch of Winnipeg’s public library service. Scheduled to open this fall, the Library will feature a dramatic new fourth floor, magnificent reading terraces, a new Local History Room, the new Carol Shields Auditorium, a greatly expanded Children’s Services area, new public access computers and an outdoor reading garden, among many other amenities.
