Dec. 22: The new West End Library is nearing the final stages of construction. Carpet installation is complete, counters are in place, cupboards have been put in and lighting has been installed. New shelving units have been delivered and new materials have been purchased for the opening-day collection. The final piece of the puzzle is about to fall into place as construction gets underway on the Recreation Complex coffee shop. The Library Administration is moving ahead with plans to close the West End Library’s current Ellice Avenue location and move the collection to the new site on Sargent Avenue. A Grand Opening of the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex is planned for February 2009.
