EBSCOhost Mobile- Winnipeg Public Library

The Winnipeg Public Library has just added access through our databases page to a new service called EBSCOhost Mobile. This application is tailor-made for the smaller screens of mobile devices and will allow users to access the EBSCOhost databases more easily from their smartphones/mobile devices. It offers the following EBSCOhost features and functionality:

Basic searching

HTML and PDF full text

Search modes

Limiters

Image quick view

Image collection (depending on the database selected)

Emailing articles

Preferences

Multi-database searching

Users will need to log in using their library card number just as they do when they use the EBSCO databases from outside the library. To date, EBSCOhost Mobile has been successfully tested on the iPhone, Blackberry, Palm 750, Dell Axim and Android-equipped devices but may work on other smartphones or mobile devices. EBSCOhost Mobile is also useful for those who are using dial-up connections as the mobile interface loads faster than the regular EBSCO interface.
