Hiring for the Winnipeg Public Library (all branches) is done through the City of Winnipeg's Human Resources Department. You can find information on current employment opportunities by calling 311 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or by visiting the City of Winnipeg’s Careers page.

Library Careers in General

Qualifications for library jobs vary, depending on the position you are interested in (librarian, library assistant, shelver, etc). Some require university degrees and some require high school diplomas. Most librarian positions require a Masters of Library Science degree.

Red River College offers a two-year Library and Information Technology diploma program.
