Homebound Reader Service: Deliver books to homebound people unable to visit the library due to illness, infirmity, or disability. For more information on volunteering in Homebound, call 204-986-5530. West End Library (WELL) program: An Adult Literacy Program for learners to improve their basic reading, writing, speaking, and math skills. For information on volunteering as a tutor, call the program coordinator at 204-793-7705 or email wpl.well@gmail.com. To apply to volunteer with WELL, please call 311 and ask for Volunteer Services.
Homework Clubs: Volunteer with Frontier College's Library partnered programs. For more information, call Frontier College at 204-253-7993.
Family Literacy Fun Days: Youth 13 - 17 years old assist families with young children at activity stations; for example, playing reading games and making simple crafts. Each library hosts 2 - 3 events per year. Volunteer for Family Literacy Fun Days, please call 311 and ask for Volunteer Services.
Youth Advisory Council: Students in grades 8 to 12 attend regular meetings and provide feedback on the Winnipeg Public Library Teen website (Booked) and other library services. For more information on YACs, call 204-986-4252. To volunteer for a YAC, please call 311 and ask for Volunteer Services.
Library Board and Library Advisory Committees: Serve on one of the Library's citizen advisory boards. Applications are available from the City Clerk’s Department or at clerks@winnipeg.ca. Appointments to the Library Board and Library Advisory Committees are made for two-year terms, to a maximum of six years. For more information, see the Library Board page.
