Please note: If you are bringing a large group to the Library for a tour or class visit and they require library cards, please drop off the application forms several days in advance to give us time to process them before your visit. Branch Library Tours
Branches are able to offer a variety of tours. General introductions to library services for all ages can also be arranged, including how to find library materials using our online catalogue and online magazine and newspaper articles using our subscription databases services. Please check the branch information page of the branch you are interested in to see what is available and contact the branch to make a request.

Millennium Library Tours
Guided Library Tours
One-hour guided tours can be booked for groups of up to 20 people. Suitable for larger groups such as high school classes and organizations, these tours will highlight the collections and services of the Millennium Library. Customized tours geared to specific audiences or resources may also be arranged.
Group tours are available on Monday to Thursday (morning, afternoon and occasional evenings). 1-2 weeks notice is required. Please call 986-5083 for more information and to book a tour.
Self-guided Tour of Millennium Library
If staff is unable to accommodate your request or you wish to give your own tour, please consider using our walkabout guide explaining the various collections and building features.
School Tours (grades 9 - 12)
Tours are limited to 20 people with tour guide. Teachers may choose to bring larger groups and conduct their own tours. Please consider using the Self-guided Tour mentioned above. (Tours are not offered on Friday afternoon.)
Customized Tours
Tours can be customized to meet your group's needs. The following are some suggestions.
- Adult ESL / EAL / Literacy Classes: Staff offers introductory tours for adults who are learning English, highlighting the specialized resources and services that are available.
- Adult Education / Job Re-entry Classes: This tour focuses on resources that can assist in finding a job such as resumes and cover letter and interview guides.
- Seniors and Special Needs Groups: Staff offers general interest tours geared toward mobility and /or special needs.

Book a Librarian
Outreach librarians are available to present to newcomer/EAL classes, literacy classes, seniors and Aboriginal organizations promoting use of the library. We are able to present on using the library, collections and services, using the library website, databases and special topics as suitable.
