Learning about the Library:
Photo Stories and Activities for EAL Learners These photo stories and activities were produced to introduce EAL / ESL learners and others to the wealth of programs, collections and services of Winnipeg Public Library. The photo stories help visually guide the learner through common experiences of the library. The activities help develop reading, writing and speaking skills while increasing familiarity with library resources.
Three sets of activities are available for each topic, for three Canadian Language Benchmark levels: CLB 1-2; CLB 3-4; CLB 5-6. Each set provides a photo story to illustrate a common activity in the library with learner activities on the theme. Teacher notes are included with guidance on using the activities in the classroom, as well as answer keys.
These resources may be reproduced, in whole or in part, for educational / instructional use. For reproduction for all other uses, written permission must be obtained.
