Guidelines
- Please refer to the Teachers' page for general information about school visits.
- We accept bookings for one class per visit.
- Classes may book one staff-directed program per school year so that we may accommodate all requests.
- Classes are welcome to come in for book selection as needed. We suggest that you call in advance to assure that space is available. Please let us know if you would like to use our cloak room during your visit.
- Inquiries from Home Schooling families are always welcome.
- Please note that during special programs, such as the International Storytelling Festival, staff will not be offering programs.
- Larger groups are welcome to tour the Library using the Self-Guided Tour of Millennium Library
.
- Please note that we do not have a lunch area on site.
- Please call the Children’s and Teen Services desk at 986-6488 to book a class visit.

- Promenade With the Bears - Enjoy stories and rhymes about bears and their friends, followed by a walkabout in the children's section of Millennium Library to meet our storybook bears.
- Picture Book Story Time - Stories, songs and rhymes for young children.
- Film Program - A selection of short films for young children are scheduled monthly on Thursday and Friday mornings.

- Promenade With the Bears (K+1) - Enjoy stories and rhymes about bears and their friends, followed by a walkabout in the children's section of Millennium Library to meet our storybook bears.
- Meet the Bears (2+3) - Enjoy a selection of stories followed by a walkabout through the children's section of Millennium Library to meet our storybook bears.
- Explore the Millennium Children's Library - Learn about the wealth of resources available for homework help, reading and fun at the Millennium LIbrary's children's section.
- Introduction to the Library - A brief orientation about using the library, library membership cards and general library etiquette.
- Picture Book Story Time - Stories, rhymes and more.
- Book Selection and Research - Research using library resources for projects and finding something new to read. Library staff is available for reference queries, while the teacher offers direction and supervision.
- Introduction to Databases - An overview of age-appropriate databases available on the Winnipeg Public Library website. (Kids Search, Searchasaurus, Tumblebook)
