Renovations
The newly rejuvenated space features many upgrades for library users of today. Significant improvements made include:
New flooring, carpeting, painting and furniture
An improved layout for collections, seating and computers
Lower shelving for greater accessibility and a new accessible service counter
Upgraded accessible washrooms
New accessible exterior book return chute
Location Osborne Library is located at 625 Osborne Street in the Fort Rouge Recreation and Leisure Centre.
Parking There is ample free parking in the Fort Rouge Recreation and Leisure Centre lot.
By Bus The closest southbound transit stop on Osborne Street is #10006 at Kylemore. The closest northbound transit stop on Osborne Street is #10060 at Maplewood.
Collections & Circulation Osborne Library has a collection of fiction and non-fiction books, Express Bestsellers, paperbacks and magazines, music CDs, audiobooks and DVDs for children, teens and adults. The branch also offers a collection of large type books for adults. The Children's Department has a deposit of French materials. Osborne Library circulates approximately 100,000 items a year.
Facility Features Osborne Library has ample parking and is accessible by wheelchair. A multi-purpose meeting room with a maximum of 40 people is available for public rental in the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre. To book, call 311. A book chute is located next to the outside entrance for return of items after regular hours.

Call2Recycle Battery Recycling
Winnipeg Public Library has joined the Call2Recycle battery recycling initiative. All libraries now have special recycling boxes where you can dispose of batteries and cell phones. Simply put your used batteries and cell phones in the bags provided and we'll do the rest.

History
Osborne Library opened in 1941 in a storefront at 719 Osborne followed by a move in 1957 to 700 Osborne. In 1982, 150 children from local schools took part in a book brigade to move books to the new location two blocks down the street at the Fort Rouge Recreation and Leisure Centre. Osborne Library was renovated during the summer of 2010.
