"The library has always been a special place for me, as I discovered from an early age that books opened up new vistas on our world and other worlds. Today, libraries continue to fill a very important need in the community, providing resources that nurture literacy and access to a wide source of information. As a new member of the Winnipeg Public Library Board, I bring a background that includes a long-time career as a teacher-librarian, recent involvement as the executive director of a not-for-profit organization, volunteering in community associations that range from writing, history, museum and youth groupos to my current writing and filmmaking."
